. . . No Matter Which Church Directory Company You Choose To Do Your Directory, There Are Some Critical Elements You Need To Know, Which Are Vital To A Smooth Running Program.

There are three things, some church directory companies DON'T want you to know. . .that can have a detrimental effect on the success of your church directory program.

Dear Pastor and /or church leadership:

Have you ever had, or heard stories from another church who had, a bad experience with a previous church directory program or the company whose services they used?

Hidden Problems Can Unexpectedly Turn The Best Planned Program Into A Disaster.

1.) Inefficient Management:

The larger a company is, the more potential there is for unforeseen problems to occur and the longer it takes for the person with the solution to locate and correct the problem. Most companies have a chain of command. The larger the company, the bigger the chain of command. There are situations where an employee, even if they know how to solve the problem, is not allowed to provide the solution without consulting his/her supervisor, who in turn must consult their boss and so on, up the chain. Following a chain of command for problem solving can cause unnecessary delays.

2.) Personnel Conflicts:

It is in the best interest of any company to have employees with integrity, a good work ethic and high moral standards, however, finding and keeping such employees is a very costly and difficult task. There are a few people, who should never be hired by any company which works with people, who manage to get hired. By the time it is discovered that an employee does not meet the companies high standards, damage to it’s reputation and efficiency of operation may have already occurred. Some people, driven by high commissions, are rude, some even walk off the job if they are unhappy with sales. Situations such as this cause needless disruptions and delays, as well as, bad feelings between the company and the church.

3.) Inadequate Communication:

Large companies have a toll-free number for convenience. You know the kind…dial 1for this department…dial 2 if your grass is brown…dial 3 if it’s raining, and the list goes on. Oh, you wanted to talk to a live person? “Please hold. All representatives are currently helping other clients. Your call will be answered in the order in which it was received. Your average waiting time is 98 minutes.”

An hour and a half later you may hear, “I’m sorry, the person you need to speak to is not in today. Would you like to leave a message?”

Three weeks later. . . “Hello, I just received your message, today. Had I been aware of the problem yesterday, I could have helped you. I’m sorry, but your term of reparation has expired and according to company policy, my hands are tied. I’m sure you understand. Have a nice day. Good-bye.”

Our Solution: Locally Owned and Operated Small Business

1.) Management:

No chain of command. Our business is owned and operated solely by my wife and myself. We ARE the company. . . we are THE decision and policy makers.

2.) Personnel:

No employee will hold a company in higher regard than it’s owner.

We are a Christian couple. I do the photography, sales, order processing, directory design and production. My wife helps me with contacting churches, assembling orders and directory publication. I have 38 years of photography experience with degrees in art, photography and electronic engineering. Six years of my experience includes taking family portraits for two of the three major church directory companies in the nation. I have received awards for my art, photography and customer relations.

You can find out what others think by reading comments about us in letters we have received from people we have worked with in the past. ( see our letters of reference )

3.) Communication:

You CAN reach us when you need answers. If we can not be reached at the time of your call, leave a message on our simple voice mail system. We will return your call as soon as we are off the phone or usually within 24 hours if we are out of the office.

To sum it up, we strive to provide the best service in the industry. If you are willing to wait, we’ll add you to our waiting list, if our schedule should fill up before you contact us.

It is because of our commitment to serve you personally, rather than through several employees, that we may not be available to provide you with our services at the time of the year you would prefer, if you should delay too long. We can only produce a limited number of church directories each year. If you are seriously considering having us create your church directory, we need to reserve a time, as soon as possible, for photographing your families.

Our goal is simple: We want your church directory and family portraits to be the best they can be.
